IELTS Lesson#10 - Listening 4 -Transferring Answers

IELTS Listening test is the only test in IELTS where you are provided with 10 minutes extra time to transfer your answers. In my opinion, 10 minutes time is more than enough to transfer the answers into the answer sheets. So, it becomes necessary to make the perfect use of this.

There are certain ways to improve the use of these 10 minutes.

Checking the spelling of words

Spelling mistakes are common in IELTS Listening test. In order to correct this, we need to allocate 2-3 minutes to validate the spelling of words.

Checking the instructions

Another kind of mistake that is quite common among candidates is the mistake because of not following the instructions correctly. Sometimes, candidates tend to write more than allowed as per the instructions and fail.

Checking the possible answers

The last among the things to check is to try make the guess of any questioned left to be answered. Because of the fact that IELTS has no negative marking scheme, you can make a logical guess out of options given to you.

Checking the handwriting

Sometimes, some mistakes are found just because poor handwriting. We can thoroughly scan the answers to check if anything among these is ambiguous or confusing. This helps to reduce the change of getting a right answer wrong.

Checking the Grammatical Accuracy

If you have been making a lot of mistakes in plural or singular answers in practice, then you need to check the grammar of your answer as well. This obviously does a lot to get those mistakes corrected.
